Artur Mas i Gavarró is the 129th President of the Government of Catalonia since its founding in 1359
Artur Mas, the new President of the Government of Catalonia, was sworn into office in a solemn ceremony in the Saló Sant Jordi of the Palau de la Generalitat.
José Montilla, the acting President of the Government of Catalonia, delivered the swearing-in ceremony's opening speech, while Núria de Gispert, the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, read the royal decree of appointment. Afterwards, President Montilla gave Artur Mas the Medal of Office and Mas officially opened his term as the new President of the Government of Catalonia.
