Water in Real Time application updated

The application includes figures for snowfall and detailed information for each region and municipality

The site, developed by the Catalan Water Agency and the Catalonia Meteorological Service and which is the first of its kind in Europe, boasts a new, clearer design that is easier to understand and offers information about the most important hydrometeorological episodes at any given time.

The initiative provides details of the amount of precipitation that has accumulated in Catalonia by combining data from meteorological radars and figures from pluviometers at weather stations, as well as noting the possible impact of heavy rain, displaying the amount of water collected in Catalonia and tracking the evolution of rainfall.

Although it has been live for almost a year, the application has now been updated to improve its functionality and offer users more detailed information. For example, one of the main new features is the inclusion of water-related data in the shape of figures for accumulated snow in the Pyrenees. Users can also consult past figures (for up to the last three months) and follow the development of key hydrometeorological episodes from beginning to end.

The site is available in three languages - Catalan, Spanish and English - and has been visited more than 33,000 times since it was launched.
