ResolvedPostdoctoral scholarships and grants in the Beatriu de Pinós programme (BP-DGR 2010)

Modality B: Grants for the recruitment of research personnel to the Catalan science and technology system.

Object:
The Beatriu de Pinós call for applications comprises the postdoctoral stage of research personnel and its object is to facilitate their integration in different types of organisations depending on the modality chosen.

Modality B of this call for applications offers grants that promote the mobility and hiring of research personnel in the public sector of the Catalan science and technology system, be they universities, research centres or hospital foundations.

Type of grants:
The grants are for two years and may only be put towards the funding of contracts for research personnel

Applicants:
The application, using the standard model that is to be found in the Resources section of this website, should be submitted by the researcher in charge of the host research group, with the approval of the vice-dean of research or equivalent post in the case of universities or the management of the centre in the case of research centres or hospital foundations, following the instructions detailed on the standard model.

The applicant may only figure on one application of this call, regardless of the modality.

Adressed to:
Universities, research centres and hospital foundations located in Catalonia are eligible for these grants provided that the results of the project which is the object of this call for applications are made available in non-discriminatory function to the community industry.
Technology centres, centres supporting technological activity and technology dissemination centres are excluded from this call for applications.

Duration:
The beneficiary organisations of the grants must formalise the corresponding contract within the period comprised between the date of publication of the award decision order on the AGAUR notice board and April 30, 2012.
The contracts must end at the latest by April 30, 2014, except in the cases provided for in this call for applications.

Funding:
The grant funds the total cost of the contracts, which is 36,623.04 Euros a year. This amount includes the minimum remuneration to be paid to research personnel (26,655.39 gross Euros per annum), and the employer's Social Security contributions. The organisations, if they deem it fitting, may increase the salary of the research personnel recruited using their own funds and will also pay the employer's Social Security contributions.

This programme is cofunding by the European Union.

Submission deadline:
The term for the submittal of applications is 30 days and begins the day after the publication of this call for applications in the DOGC.

Submission process:
The application, using the standard model, should be submitted by the researcher in charge of the host research group, with the approval of the vice-dean of research or equivalent post in the case of universities or the management of the centre in the case of research centres or hospital foundations, following the instructions detailed on the standard model.

Once the form and the corresponding annex have been submitted electronically they should also be delivered in paper format to the AGAUR registry (Pg. Lluís Companys, 23, 08010 Barcelona) or any other official registry provided for by the Law on the legal system of the public administrations and of the common administrative procedure.

Call results:
The resolution will be published on the AGAUR's notice board and, for the purpose of information, may be queried on this website.

Information:
The organisations must hire the candidates that meet the following requirements:
a) Have obtained the title of doctor after January 1, 2005 (the date the PhD was obtained is understood to be that on which the thesis was defended and approved), except in the cases provided for in this call.
b) Have completed or be on a postdoctoral stay in an organisation other than the one for which it is applying for the grant for a minimum period of two years. This postdoctoral stay should have been completed when the beneficiary joins the organisation.
This requirement may also be accredited in cases in which the applicant organisation has work centres in different locations and unarguable mobility is substantiated.
The stay in a centre managed or administered jointly by different legal organisations will not render it possible for any of the centres involved to fulfil this requirement except in cases in which unarguable mobility is accredited.
c) Not have worked for more than 12 consecutive months in the host centre on joining the application organisation.

Documentation:
To formalise the application, the standard form and the corresponding annex should be submitted, following the instructions on the form. The application may be completed in Catalan, Spanish or English.

Others:
This modality offers a total of 45 grants, of which 35 will be reserved for candidates that have completed or are on a postdoctoral stay for a minimum period of two years in a country other than the one where the title of doctor was obtained and, after the end of the postdoctoral stay, have not lived or worked for more than 12 consecutive months in Catalonia.
