Object:
The Beatriu de Pinós call for applications comprises the postdoctoral stage, which is framed within the training of research personnel and seeks to facilitate their integration, as Marie Curie Fellows, in different types of organisations.
The BP-A modality of this call for applications offers the possibility of extending the training of research personnel based in Catalonia abroad through a scholarship for stays abroad lasting two years and then to return to the Catalan Science and technology system in the form of one-year contract.
Type of grants:
This modality comprises two phases.
The first phase, in the form of scholarship, subsidises two-year postdoctoral stays at any university or research centre outside Spain.
The second phase, in the form of a grant, subsidises one-year postdoctoral stays to facilitate the return of people who have completed their postdoctoral scholarship to the Catalan science and technology system.
Applicants:
The application for the first phase, using the standard model that is to be found in the Resources section of this website, should be submitted by research personnel applying for the scholarship.
The applicant may only figure on one application of this call, regardless of the modality.
Adressees:
This modality is open to research personnel who at the time of accepting the scholarship hold a PhD degree, obtained after January 1, 2007 (the date the PhD degree was obtained is understood to be that on which the thesis was defended and aproved), or else after January 1, 2005, if any of the following circumstances can be substantiated:
- Maternity/paternity leave,
- If the applicant has had minors of less than six old under their care, as well as people with physical, mental or sensorial disability or elderly people above sixty-five years old who depend on the beneficiary and require special care,
- Has had a serious disease or accident with medical leave equal to or more than 6 months.
The research personnel must hold an undergraduate degree, degree or equivalent or PhD from a university of the Catalan university system.
The research personnel who have obtained the title of undergraduate degree, degree or equivalent outside the Catalan university system cannot do the postdoctoral stay in the same country where these titles were obtained.
The personnel research cannot do the stay in the same institution where the PhD title was held.
This phase excludes individuals who have benefited from this modality in previous calls of the programme.
Duration:
The scholarships for postdoctoral research stays abroad are for two years.
The beneficiaries of the scholarships must start at the foreign host centre within the period comprised between the date of publication of the award order on the AGAUR notice board and 31 March 2013.
Postdoctoral stays abroad end, at the latest, on December 31, 2014, except in the cases provided for in this call for applications.
The grant awarded is to be allocated to fund the contractual expenses generated for a period of one year. The beneficiary organisations must formalise the corresponding contracts within the term of six months as of the end of the postdoctoral stay outside Spain.
The contractual expenses must end at the latest by June 30, 2016, except in the cases provided for in this call for applications.
Amount:
The gross monthly amounts of the scholarships and the allowance for travelling expenses will be determined in section IV of this call for applications.
For all the beneficiaries of a research scholarship, the AGAUR will make sure they have travel health care insurance if they so request and no not have their own coverage.
The grant for the return of research personnel. The grant may only be allocated to the funding of the contracts for research personnel who have been beneficiaries of a scholarship in this modality.
The AGAUR's grant will fund 100% of the total cost of the contracts. Each contract is 40,604.62 euros. This amount includes the minimum gross annual remuneration to be paid to research personnel is 30,972.25, and the employer's Social Security contributions. The organisations, if they deem it appropriate, may increase the salary of the research personnel recruited using their own funds and will also pay the employer's Social Security contributions.
Submittal deadline:
The term for the submission of applications is 30 calendar days and begins the day after the publication of this resolution in the DOGC.
Applications for the return to Catalonia must be submitted once the first 20 months of tenure of the scholarship have elapsed and before the end of the postdoctoral stay outside Spain. Applications submitted outside this period will be excluded from the phase 2 of the modality A.
Place of submittal:
The application for the postdoctoral research scholarship must be submitted by the research scholarship applicant using the standard form and following the instructions on the latter.
Once the form and the corresponding annex have been submitted electronically they should also be delivered in paper format to the AGAUR registry (Pg. Lluís Companys, 23, 08010 Barcelona) or to any other official registry provided for by the Law on the legal system of the public administrations and of the common administrative procedure.

Decision:
The resolution will be published on the AGAUR's notice board and, for the purpose of information, may be queried on this website.
Documentation:
To formalise the application, the standard form and the annex should be submitted, following the instructions on the form. The application may be completed in Catalan, Spanish or English.
