United Voices is part of Veus ('Voices'), an audiovisual collection designed to bring together different perspectives on linguistic diversity, with contributions from the general public. United Voices features renowned figures from scientific, cultural and media backgrounds from all over the world offering their views on languages and multilingualism. The project was showcased at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York in December 2008 on the occasion of a seminar held to bring the International Year of Languages to a close. The wide-ranging Veus collection also includes Veus del meu barri (‘Voices from my neighbourhood’), Veus del català (‘Catalan voices’) and Veus del món a Catalunya (‘Voices of the world in Catalonia’).
