Dissemination

One of the essential channels for the dissemination of the best practices is the directory of best practices in multilingualism. 

It is the job of the dissemination service to encourage the adoption of best practices by institutions, administrations and companies. Instruments to be used include: 

•  Creating a state of opinion that favours the adoption of best practices through combining a range of initiatives: public presentations at study days and congresses, organising series of conferences, helping to organise opportunities for debate and participation, preparing subject-based round-ups, involvement of the media, etc. 

•  Preparing and distributing reports on the situation of different languages and making proposals and recommendations. 

•  Positive reinforcement of best practices through public recognition: creating special awards and encouraging other bodies to value best practices for managing multilingualism in their awards. 

•  Supporting preparation of educational materials for different recipients; materials to reinforce respect for diversity, management of multilingualism and adoption of best practices.
 
•  Agreeing on systems for collaboration with public bodies, civic entities and associations to put best practices into effect.
