The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) offers users the possibility to receive notifications and carry out various procedures electronically. Users who wish to set up electronic notification services must submit an application via the Virtual Procedures Office (OVT) and have a digital certificate. Electronic notification has the same legal validity as paper notification.
Procedures which can be carried out electronically include:
- Applying to receive e-notifications.
- Filing claims and appeals for traffic fines and penalties.*
- Driver identification service.*
- Applying to have wrongly paid fees returned.*
* Procedures marked with an asterisk can also be filed for other people. In this situation, the representative must register in the Registry of Representatives.

The SCT has developed this project thanks to the collaboration of the Directorate General for Citizen Attention, the Office for the Development of Electronic Management (ODEA) and the Consortium for the Open Administration of Catalonia (AOC).
